The Music Education Department prepares its students for careers as primary and secondary school music teachers.  The first two years of study provide students with a common foundation in the field, while the second two years give students a chance to focus on a particular aspect of Music Education.  The Department’s five divisions are: Music Pedagogy, Composition and Theory, Piano, Voice, and Choral Conducting.  Courses for majoring students include: Voice, Piano, Composition Technique and Theory, Chinese and Foreign Music History, Chorus and Conducting, Pedagogy, Psychology, Overview of Music Education, and Teaching Practicum.
