The Chinese Instruments Department nurtures the talent of instrumental performers and teachers.  It is divided into the following four divisions: Wind and Percussion, Plucked String, Bowed String, and Rehearsal.  Instruments taught include: Gu Qin, Pipa, Gu Zheng, Yang Qin, San Xian, Liu Qin, Zhong Ruan, Erhu, Banhu, Cello, Bass, Dizi, Suona, Guanzi, Sheng, and Chinese Percussion.  Courses offered include: Primary Instrument, Secondary Instrument, Ensemble and Accompanimental Performance, and requisite music coursework.
